Hi Everyone,

Many thanks to those who have provided feedback over the last few weeks, especially George Marinov and Esa. This release (v0.85.4) should solve most problems without creating too many new ones. Today also sees the launch of the new reViSiT FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), available from the Support section of the reViSiT website, where details of how to donate to reViSiT can also be found. This new version features:

·          New and improved sync and host support, including FL Studio, Cakewalk SONAR, Cakewalk VST Adapter, DirectiXer, Tracktion, among others.

·          New and improved keyboard support. Added Win32 Keyboard mode: essentially Host mode, but processed inside the plug-in. Works with several hosts, including Tracktion, Orion, Aero Studio and Buzz. reViSiT now detects most common hosts and automatically selects the appropriate Keyboard mode.

·          Mouse support for enabling/disabling keyboard. Use 'K' key icon in bottom-right of reViSiT screen. The previous Ctrl-Alt-K keyboard shortcut also still works.

·          Support for 16-bit graphics modes. Previous versions would display "invisible" patterns, when 16-bit graphics modes were used.

·          Improvements in IT equivalence. Alt-D now selects correct number of rows. Alt-B/Alt-E behaviour now mirrors that in IT. Alt-J (Volume Amp.) now defaults to last setting.  Ctrl-J (Default Volume Amp.) added.

This, hopefully (again), will mark the last update before 0.86, which is to feature MIDI support. There are now very few reports of incompatible hosts - Renoise is the only incompatible host currently known to me, and who wants to run a tracker in a tracker...?

If you download reViSiT, you are requested to provide feedback on your experiences using the online forum.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to pose them on the forum - or to me directly by email, via revisit@nashnet.co.uk. For more information, see the reViSiT website @ http://revisit.nashnet.co.uk.

Enjoy!

All the best,
Chris
