Small suggestion: alt + arrows (in addition to shift) for block selection. It would be more intuitive to have block selection and transposing (+other functions) assign to one key.

keep up the good work

Hi there,

I had wondered about this - it was Alt for selections in IT2 originally. However, it's Shift in every other program. I'll think about adding the Alt key for selection, but at the moment I'm leaning toward using the Alt + Cursor's for pattern navigation - since laptop's don't have a numeric pad! I don't really think it's necessarily more intuitive to have Alt used for both selection and transposing - indeed, I think a distinction should be made between passive and destructive processes (i.e. selection, which doesn't affect the data, and editing, which does).

If I can think of a better laptop-compatible key combination for pattern navigation, then I don't see why the Alt can't be used as an alternative. I've put it on my To Do list as a 'tentative' task.

Cheers,
Chris
