As VST doesn't allow bpm changes from rvst, how about an fx command that doubles/halves the resolution? This is essentially a skimmed-down work-around of that scheduled zoom feature. I estimate it wouldn't take too much time as I estimate that the host doesn't know that one step in rvst is a 16th note at all. The only one who knows it's a 16th note is *you*. It would be very practical to set some kinda stepsize multiplier in which one can define that a step is a 16th note, or an 8th note, or a 32th note, or whatever value: 64, 4, 2, 1.. etc. It'd be *highly* convenient to have that. Numerous examples can be given, but the most practical ones are:
- low speed (big stepsize) for ambient'esque music without insanely low bpm's in the host.
- temporarily fast speed (small stepsize) for harp glissandi, fast violin runs/arpeggios etc.

The only work-around for the faster speed atm is a second channel, alternating notes, and the SDx command. Which is far from practical, and sometimes just simply impossible. Apart from this, it just doesn't make sense to double the host's BPM in order to have 32th notes.

This isn't a "skimmed-down" work-around for the zoom feature. It is the zoom feature. It is not simple to implement and requires a major recoding of the interface, sync. and sequencer engine. It'll happen eventually, but there are bigger priorities right now.
