i don't know if it is already too late for the next release, but maybe for a future version:

from the 0.91 release notes:

[ADD] Apply last Pattern Options feature (Ctrl+F2)
[ADD] Alt-O*2 overwrites + extends pattern (if required)
[ADD] Shift-Alt-O copies highlighting from clipboard, without copying data.
[ADD] Shift-Alt-O*2 overwrites highlighting and extends pattern using clipboard, without copying data.

i always end up using these functions one after the other (shift-alt-o*2, alt-o*2 etc.) and when i use smaller patterns with only 48 lines or so, i have to set the pattern size with ctrl-f2.
i use these functions a lot and am glad that they exist, but maybe they would be even more effective if they would be modified a bit:

my suggestion would be:

Alt-O*2 - overwrite + extend or withdraw pattern + copy highlighting
Shift-Alt-O*2 overwrite highlighting + extend or withdraw pattern, without copying data.

what do you guys think?

Well, some place else in the forum I already hinted towards a complete multiple-pattern copy which includes the whole shebang, which to me makes far more sense than coyping lots of patterns (including everything) by hand..

There will be a straight of pattern-copy feature soon (wasn't ready for v0.92.1, I'm afraid).

As for the addition of "withdrawing" (shrinking, I presume?) the pattern, I was not crazy about making the effect of this feature destructive in that way, though I suppose there's always the undo feature. I think about it when I get around to the Pattern Copy feature.
