Location: England | Hello everybody,
CS_TBL discovered a trojan in some of the nashnet.co.uk pages, caused by some malicious person who'd managed to get access to the FTP site and change some of the pages and scripts. The offending bits of code have now been removed, and all login details, etc. have been changed. I have no reason to believe that reViSiT or the Experiment data was in anyway compromised, so this incident is thankfully relatively minor, and was spotted quickly - it looks like the attack was automated, rather than directed at reViSiT/me, and only left behind an annoying, rather than catastrophic payload.
I recommend, however, that you all check you antivirus definitions are up to date and do a quick scan to make sure you have caught anything nasty. Once you've done that, all that remains is to get together with the rest of the reViSiT community, find the sod that did this, and cut both of his/her arms off...
Best,
Chris |
